In addition to being a novelist, Carolyn is a Contributing Editor for Poets & Writers Magazine in the United States (where she has written profiles of Frank McCourt, Pete Hamill, Pat Barker, Norman Mailer, and Colum McCann, to name a few). The Frank McCourt piece has been published in the Glencoe Literature Program Textbook by MacGraw-Hill. She has also written for The New York Times Book Review, The Los Angeles Times Book Review, The Washington Post, The South China Morning Post and The Village Voice. In addition, Carolyn is one of the co-founders of Pa’s Hat Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps Liberians recover from their two Civil Wars using arts education.
Carolyn divides her time between New York City and Southsea in the UK.
