Nelle Andrew was nominated for Literary Agent of the Year at The British Book Awards 2018, and was a Bookseller Rising Star (2016) whose career includes discovering and agenting Sunday Times, and New York Times bestsellers; award winning novelists as well as several Richard and Judy Book Club Picks. She is a primary agent with her own list, and also co-handles North American rights with the International Rights Director on behalf of the agency.
She loves compelling and entertaining fiction with great writing and a strong plot. She is particularly looking for well-written historical, clever crime/thriller, smart women’s fiction, redemptive novels, feminist narratives, literary writing with a strong plot and suspense. Above all she loves resonant novels with strong narratives that provoke discussion.
While she does do narrative non fiction, she is especially looking for fiction right now.
Nelle has a particular affinity for debuts of any age as she is a published novelist in her own right and personally knows the struggle to get published. As such, she is keen to find those voices who she can champion into long and productive careers. To that end she also sits on the board of both the Lucy Cavendish Prize for unpublished writers and more recently was on the Sunday Times/PFD Young Writer’s Award.
