MARIANNE DREAMS

Marianne is no child prodigy at drawing. Confined to her bed with an illness she finds a pencil in her great-grandmotherís workbox, but the house she draws is as unsatisfying as always – like a shaky dolls’ house with grass as unlike anything growing as ever. But that night she dreams and re-discovers her drawing in a completely new world.

Returning to this world night after night, Marianne encounters a strange but familiar boy who joins her in an adventure that runs between reality and dream…

THE MIRROR IMAGE GHOST

Lisa is certain she has seen a ghost in the reflections of her Mother’s bedroom mirror. There is no one she can confide in: not her grandparents, who are oddly secretive about the subject of ghosts and the past; nor her mother who seems preoccupied since her recent marriage to Laurent; and she definitely won’t tell her new step-brother and sister they are French and she hates them! As her war with Pierre and Alice gets fiercer, Lisa finds herself drawn into the world beyond the mirrors and realises that the events of fifty years ago cannot be ignored. What she does now might change things for her whole family: her grandparents, her mother, Pierre, Alice and, most importantly, for Lisa herself.

CLEVER POLLY AND THE STUPID WOLF

Once upon a time the front door bell rang and Polly went to open the door. There was a great black wolf who said he had come to eat her up. This collection of stories feature a wolf trying to catch a little girl: the wolf takes his always impractical subterfuges from fairy tales, but is outmatched by Polly every time.

THE IF GAME

What if …? Stephen is bursting with questions. What if his mother was still around? What if he knew what had happened to her? What if his father would just tell him the truth? Then he starts finding keys – keys which lead him through secret doors, into a strange world where he doesn’t recognize anyone, but everyone seems to know him. Perhaps he can find out what he wants to know in the world behind the doors. But what if hearing the truth turns out to be worse than not knowing at all?
