Helen was born in Liverpool, where she still lives after a detour via Scotland, France and Spain. She has a BA in French and Hispanic Studies from University of Liverpool and a MA in Novel Writing from Manchester Metropolitan University. Helen has worked extensively with adults or young people with Special Educational Needs, which was a big influence on her decision to become a teacher. She is now an English teacher and Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator. She is currently working on Whatever Happened to Sophie McClure, her first novel for young adults.
