Casey was born in Berkshire and took interest in music and writing from a young age. She was awarded several writing honours during school, including second place in a regional poetry competition. She attended the University of Winchester, and although her focus was script-writing, she also wrote poetry and non-fiction for Splendid Fred Magazine, and had a short film script published in Word Gumbo.
Casey went on to manage a charity book and music shop in Reading. After a couple of years of selling books, and a life spent scribbling down everything from songs to scripts, she knew that she wanted to write the elusive debut novel. She studied for her MA in Creative Writing at Bath Spa University, where the novel took shape, and graduated with distinction.
She currently lives in Cornwall, still reading and writing stories in any form they come, but now with the added benefit of cream teas and pasties. Her first novel Pair Bonding is set in an alternate universe inspired by Greek mythology where soulmates are a known fact. Each section of the book focuses on a different issue raised by this altered reality, and build to form an overall arc that questions our attitudes towards love and relationships. Pair Bonding has been optioned by a major production company for TV.
