Antonia Quirke is an author and journalist. After studying English Literature at University College London, she worked as a reporter on the radical left-wing London free sheet The Camden New Journal, where she also wrote the cinema pages. For many years she was film critic for the Independent on Sunday, the Evening Standard, and GMTV, and her memoir of life as a star-crazed movie fan Madame Depardieu and the Beautiful Strangers (published in 2007), is being made into a film by the UK Film Council. She also writes for the Sunday Times. Antonia is a regular contributor to BBC Radio 4, and presenter on the World Service. Antonia is a presenter on The Film Programme and Pick of the Week (Radio 4) and Film 2015 and The One Show (BBC 1). She writes a column on radio for the New Statesman.
