Nelle Andrew is an agent at PFD, who is actively building her list. She represents a wide range of fiction and non-fiction and is looking for exciting, well-written books with a wide appeal. Her list spans Sunday Times and New York Times bestsellers; and Richard and Judy Book Club picks. In 2016, she was also one of The Bookseller’s Rising Stars. A published novelist in her own right, she worked at Pan Macmillan before joining PFD in 2009. She also now handles American rights on behalf of the agency with Alexandra Cliff.
In particular she is looking for compelling suspense, accessible literary fiction with a strong hook, historical and reading group, engrossing crime thrillers and a contemporary love story. A varied and extensive reader, she also loves books that defy genre pigeon holes if they are a great story.
For non-fiction, she loves narrative non-fiction in particular memoir, history, psychology, politics and insightful, edgy stories that make you look at the world in a different way, in the vein of Serial or Making of a Murderer.
Above all she is drawn to unique storytelling and compelling prose and is looking for an author whose writing she can champion in what she hopes will be a long and productive career.
She is no longer looking for YA or children’s novels and does not take on sci-fi or fantasy, erotic novels and short story collections.
